A few steps to greater sustainability

Europe's economy should become more environmentally friendly, stop emitting climate-damaging gases, improve corporate resilience - i.e. crisis resistance - and at the same time become more competitive and profitable. All of this lies behind the term "sustainability". The EU is driving this concept forward with numerous directives and regulations, such as the new End-of-Life Vehicles Directive and last year's Battery Regulation, as well as reporting obligations such as the European Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the European Sustainability Reporting Standard (ESRS).

Companies are finding themselves under increasing pressure. Obligations along the supply chain, for example, also contribute to this. However, the implementation of a sustainability strategy actually also offers opportunities, as a more comprehensive database not only provides a better overview of decisions relating to ecology, but also to the economy.

However, getting there is not easy: the topic of sustainability affects numerous processes and requires extensive know-how, while implementation ties up human resources - this is where gaps open up in many companies. With the white paper "Sustainability check in 20 questions", the EDAG Group shows which tasks need to be mastered as part of a sustainability project. In this way, company managers can gain an initial overview of whether their company's sustainability activities are sufficient or which gaps urgently need to be addressed.
