SDV: Latencies safely under control cover-whitepaper-latenzen-im-sdv-en

The number and complexity of features and their event chains will continue to increase with the Software Defined Vehicle (SDV). Despite increasing computing performance and faster Ethernet connections in vehicle networking, this results in increased response times (latencies). It is essential to examine these latencies at an early stage of development in order not to jeopardize the desired customer experience and time-critical safety requirements.

To this end, EDAG Engineering and INCHRON have joined forces to provide development departments with a suitable solution that allows for efficient modeling, simulation and analysis of time-critical event chains in the overall vehicle architecture.

The two partners have developed an architecture design that is centered on the event chain and allows to calculate the end-to-end latency (E2E latency) along the actual causal dependencies early on in the development process. This gives developers the first reliable basis for making timely design decisions to ensure that the required real-time behavior is met.

Find out all you need to know about latencies in the software-defined vehicle and how the toolchain from EDAG Engineering and INCHRON can support you in your development work in our white paper "To keep YOU in control of the latencies in the SDV (and not the other way around)", which you can download here.
