GIVE WAY FOR THE MOBILITY REVOLUTION

From the real lab to everyday life: EDAG CityBot, the world's first fully integrated ecosystem for commercial use in transport and work tasks:
Soccer experts say that the truth about soccer can only be found on the field. The same applies to the EDAG CityBot. The highly automated, multi-functional robot vehicles are being put through their paces in real lab operation at the Campus FreeCity in the Deutsche Bank Park. In cooperation with Eintracht Tech - the digital subsidiary of Eintracht Frankfurt - and other partners, EDAG is testing various service functions of the EDAG CityBots under real lab conditions in a government funded project in the Eintracht Frankfurt stadium grounds.
In the Campus FreeCity program, the interdisciplinary project team is focusing particularly on level 4 autonomous driving, i.e. without either a steering wheel or a brake pedal. In addition, the EDAG CityBots' modularity and multi-functionality must be verified under everyday conditions. The aim is for them to be operational around the clock: as a passenger cell, a cargo carrier or device for city cleaning, waste disposal or park maintenance, whatever is required. To this end, the vehicles network with their surroundings to create a complete ecosystem comprising a wide range of business models. This offers enormous potential, which needs to be exploited. EDAG CityBots can be adapted to suit a wide variety of vehicle types and functions, and are freely scalable. For tasks at airports or container terminals, for example, or in the agricultural sector.
